I have been meaning to blog about Halloween. It's such a weird holiday when you think about it. I think people like it because it gives everyone an excuse to act crazy and no one can judge them for it. It's like the saying, "Freedom is the oxygen of the soul." ~Moshe Dayan. Or this quote also made me think of Halloween, and how for once our appearance doesn't matter..."The world is governed more by appearance than realities so that it is fully as necessary to seem to know something as to know it." ~Daniel Webster
Anyways, this past Halloween we took Emmanuel out trick or treating for the first time in his life (he's going to be 2 this month). It was pretty fun...we couldn't get him to say "trick or treat" but we could get him to say "miderman" (which made sense at the time, because he was dressed up as spiderman). He also didn't get the whole, you-gotta-ring-the-doorbell thing, so he'd walk halfway up the walk way to the house, stand there, and yell "miderman". It was the cutest thing ever!
Needless to say, he got a ton of candy--which after he went to bed, all the adults divided amongst themselves. Yes, he got a few things but we got the rest!
